Whilst I had a couple of floorboards up in my kitchen, I noticed that my cooker point is fed by two 2.5mm cables. I traced the cables back (through the garage) to the CU, where it is protected by a 30A fuse. I took the cover off the cooker point (after switching the power off of course) and there's no other cables to or from the socket except the 6mm cable to the fan oven itself, which is rated at 4.3KW. So, it has it's own ring circuit. Is this ok ? Or do I need to get it replaced ?

Your cooker should be fed by a radial circuit, usually 6mm cable. This goes from your CU to your CCU (cooker control unit). From there it normally goes to a cooker connection outlet, where the cable (usually 6mm) goes to the cooker.
It should not be fed by a 2.5mm ring circuit.
You ought to have it changed.
The ring circuit could be extended and used to add additional sockets.
