I have an old Skilsaw 5166 with a 190 X 2.2 blade with a 16mm bore. It only has 12 teeth and is a bit rough for the work I am doing.

I have searched but not found a similar sized blade with more teeth.

Why are there so many variations in Saw blades.

Some variations for function I can expect and accept. But the particular combination, 190 X 2.2 with 16mm bore is proving very elusive.

Some blades come with collars so that you can make a large bore blade compatible with a smaller spindled saw - Do these work?

My son-in-law used a reducer on a Sliding Mitre Saw and works OK
But the clamp covered and clamped on the saw itself

Saxton have an excellent technical support staff , spoken to a few times, and i'm sure they would advise if safe to use on your particular saw

basic description
fewer teeth quicker very very rough cut
more teeth slower [more load ] but up to very very clean cut

Be careful with small bore fitting blades with large reducers as the saw securing washer may be smaller than the hole in the blade and reducing ring.:rolleyes:
