Cistern won't stop filling...

at a last result but i would strip it down and put it back together.
and remove the float arm and check the little black rubber and the surface it shuts on is clean.

Ok, will try that tomorrow night now - had two beers already and the kids need to go to bed.
Thank-you for your time though! Much appreciated Seco.

Took blue nut off. Not sure what i'm looking for, although nothing looks broken, snapped or split.

Looks like i have to take it back to Wickes....although they only do the one type i think...

anyone recommend a make/model that will work?

the fluidmaster is the next one i would go for.
wickes do these.

this is how yours should fit together.

incidentally, i have water coming out of the square (window shaped) thing at the top... is that normal?

if you get the fluid master, it might be worth going for the brass shanked version. Less chance of any cross threading issues.

Thank-you gents, i'll get on with it tomorrow and report back.

Right, got the fluidmaster (thanks Seco) from Wickes, fitted it tonight.... and it works a treat!! Smaller, quieter, and three quid cheaper!!!

Thanks again gents for your time talking me through this!
