Two of my upstairs radiators emit annoying clicking and tapping sounds when the boiler is fired up. Thinking that they had air in them, I bled both radiators to get rid of trapped (which there was). However, the radiators are still making these clicking sounds! What else could be wrong? I\\\'ve extracted the air - are they full of sludge? Do they need cleaning out? Any help would be gratefully appreciated!

Hi, My bedroom rad made the same clicking noise, when warming up and cooling down. Changed it in the end, plumber said that they have spot welds when they are made. if one of these welds cracks then that can make the clicking noises you mentioned due to expansion and contraction of the steel radiator.
