Does anyone know of a digital clock in a standard plate to fit on a single or 2 gang backbox.

TIA

Thanks for your interest. I currently have a central heating controller on the kitchen wall, this is now redundant as my new cooker/boiler has its own programmer. I have the idea of replacing the controller with a normal clock rather than trying to cover the hole or replace a tile. So it's a simple real time clock I am looking for.

Is the old controller still live? You could always put a single socket on but it may look daft if it's half way up the wall and you would have to investigate where the power is taken from. Or just a blanking plate and then deal with when you re-do the kitchen, but patching a tile in isn't too difficult if you have one and are careful.

Having investigated, there does not seem to be anything. You could leave the existing device there, powered up, with the clock running but no outputs connected. This is your cheapest option.

But I have found this. Although it is a timer, it has a larger display:

When you say "clock" do you mean "clock" or do you mean "timeswitch?"

You talkin' to me, kid?

malt just wants a real-time digi clock to fill a hole.

I was suggesting either leaving the programmer with the outputs disconn'd, or fitting a timer with a digi display, but it doesn't relly seem worth investing good money in a timeswitch just to use it as a clock.

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions. It was a long shot and one of those ideas that come up occasionally. I cannot fit a socket because the cables are only 1mm2 but as the cables are dissed at tother end I may leave them in and fit a blanking plate for now.

so just hang a (battery operated) kitchen clock on the wall in whatever position is most convenient. What to do with the old hole can be dealt with separately.
