Evening,
I'm planning on closing an internal door by making a stud wall, plaster boarding it then skimming. The wall is brick.
Do I need to remove the door liner and screw into brick? Or can I screw the timber into the liner (after removing the stop)?
Cheers.

If the liner wont cause the plasterboard to be proud of the wall around it (or if you dont mind that) then the liner can stay

It wont be prund but there would be a wider gap. Thinking removing it is best....
