closure plate

Hi I need a closure plate for my main medallion gas fire part no 820.1942 the problem is I cant find it, I can buy one and get it cut to shape and size the question I am asking is the original one had a rubber like leaf on the rear to seal the part that goes through the closure plate, so would it matter if the rubber leaf was not there.

No can do as it involves working on a gas device (flue) you shouldn't be playing with. You will no doubt get the usual responses about dangerous and such. Please heed them.
