I suppose that somebody worked out that chlorine was neutralised by urine - don't know the chemistry behind that. Mind you if you were sitting in a trench with a cloud of chlorine coming towards you I expect you'd try anything.

Urea (the key chemical in urine) reacts with chlorine. That is one reason we use chlorine in pools.

You also use urea in chemical reactions where you want to remove free chlorine.

Hence, wee-wee works as a makeshift gas mask.

If that refers to the fella outa the drain, he went on the compost heap.

The drains were completely overhauled in1997 by Dyno-Rod. The main run was relined and the junction that has just blocked was supposedly replaced. Total cost to the home insurer £3050. Nice work if you can get it.
