After trying various, sometimes complex machines, and methods, I've settled for the past few years on a simple French Press, leaving it 4 minutes to brew two cups. After pouring my first cup, I cover the press with a woolly hat, to keep it warm.
Double walled version seems a good idea to keep it warm.
Is there any difference between a French press and cafeterier? Which is better - filter machine or press? I prefer Americano longer coffee with milk rather than the small thimbles of super strength Espresso. Still need to be quite full bodied for me though - don't like weak coffee. Not interested in pod machines.

I've tried the stove top things, where the water, is funnelled up via a pipe in the middle, onto the coffee, in a container held above; the similar automatic electric versions, and the French Press. The stove top version made undrinkable coffee, the electric version was OK, but the best all round, for both coffee and convenience, was the French Press.Which is better - filter machine or press?
The clue is on the packet………..Where can you get the Iti treats in the photo, Mottie? Supermarket or somewhere more specialist, eg. deli?
Aeropress is superior imho.Americano is a diluted espresso. It has quite a different flavour profile to cafetiere coffee. French press is the same as a cafetiere. If I'm making it just for me, I use a small cafetiere which just makes one mug.
