Colour after inserting link and other link problems.

I went to insert a link. Before I would put then place a description of link followed by but now it seems we click on the chain symbol. However when doing this http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/toggle-switch-sealing-hoods/0321212/ after all text changes colour so lost both the ability to place a description with link and to continue after link in black.

Oh after posting it seems [ url = http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/toggle-switch-sealing-hoods/0321212/ ] description [ / url ] still works but still the colour when using other method is a problem.

Where are the URL and /URL buttons. I cannot see how I can now assemble a [ url = http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/toggle-switch-sealing-hoods/0321212/ ] description [ / url ]

Any ideas?

I left gaps you can still manually use the [ url ] and [ / url ] command it seems but auto methods is 6th icon from left which shows a chain http://gw7mgw.freeiz.com/ the next button with x on the chain shows the url without it being a link
But it seems one has to press enter to come out of the link. Only found while playing on here it seems much harder than the old system.

The problem you describe also arises with text attributes - it seems that when in rich text mode the insertion point remains to the left of the [/..] tag if you highlight and tag the end of a line. If you look at your post you'll see it's not just the colour which continues, the whole of the end of the sentence is a link.

2 fixes:

1) Prevention - type more text beyond what you want to become a link then you won't be highlighting up to the end of the line when you click the

2) Cure - toggle into BB Code

so you can see the tags and move them, or move the superfluous text etc.

You don't need the URL/URL= buttons, the

does it all for you - you just need to be alert to the EOL problem when using it.

And yes - it's a bit of a PITA.

The only way i can see to do it is to edit BB code to create the URL= malarky.

Is there an easier way that someone can explain to a simpleton?

If you type the word you want to become a link, then select(highlight) it and then click on the chain button and type the link.
