Has anyone got experience with Comline brake discs? .. are they decent?

I need a set of front vented discs for a Hyundai i20 1.4L petrol.

Not even heard of them but that doesn't mean they are no good. I usually get whatever are cheapest and I haven't had a duff one yet. I think you would have difficulty in making a 'bad' brake disc if you are a serious engineering company.

Use them with confidence - they are just one of the many suppliers to the motor trade. We all have our favourites, presumably, but one things for sure - they all rust like hell :P
You'll need pads as well of course, and its vital that the hub is cleaned up with emery cloth and preferably coppaslipped before the new discs go back on. Only do up the retaining screws finger tight, and lube them too.
Coppaslip the back of the new pads at the same time.
John :)

Why only finger tight for the disc retaining screws?

I will of course use copaslip and will do the job once rain stops.

Because there's no need for it to be tighter as the wheel holds it on.

It you do it up tight it can "rust seize" and you wont ever get it off easily again.

Retaining screws hand tight for easy removal - indeed, seems sensible.

The Comline discs seem well made. I think I'll try a set of Comline pads next time round and see how they compare to Mintex which I've always favoured.

Job done - Comline dics / Mintex pads and a nice sharp brake pedal.

First time I've used Comline and will try the pads next time round.

Only issue was the lower sliding bolts on both calipers was ceased but copaslip remedied that although I was surprised that the sliding bolt was ceased when it has rubber sleeve to protect it.

The pins have very little movement and usually just tend to stick a bit rather than seize - which of course can happen if the boots split!
One very minor point - for the sliders, ideally a red rubber grease should be used - it doesn't rot the rubber boot.
John :)

Thanks Burnerman.

From what you say, copaslip will rot the rubber?

Its a mineral based grease so yep it might - but seriously, worry ye not as it takes ages!
Rubber grease products are often vegetable oil based or even lanolin or something which is perfect for dust boots and the like.....CV joint boots have a high plastic content so my ramblings don't apply there.
If you want to get some rubber grease, Granville do it in cans....its a red product and not readily available. Granville supply the likes of Eurocarparts for consumables.

Comline are ECE R90, I tried a set and they get the job done. Howver, I use Icer and the difference is noticeable. Comline discs with better pads is OK. However, Comline pads is a no no.
Allied Nippon are also the other name for Comline and have similar part numbers.
