I’m stuck between plumbers and retailers and water specialists all telling me different things. I purchased a small under counter water chiller and had a plumber install a cold water supply and a new Franke Olympus Filterflow tap. The water chiller isn’t chilling and the distributor is telling me it’s because it needs a single lever dedicated tap but these triflow taps are commonly used with chillers especially in domestic situations. Distributor sent Engineer who says the triflow tap is pushing hot water into the chiller but the boiler do identify turn on when we turn filter lever. Plumber says the cold feed is working. Engineer says there is some back flow. Does anyone have any idea what’s going on or what I should do? Water chiller is Cosmetal H2Omy

If the supplier is saying that it needs a dedicated tap then it needs a dedicated tap.... it really is as simple as that. Why didn't you just buy one of their taps, that way it would be fully guaranteed.

Might be worth contacting the manufacturer for the definitive answer.

Never played with a Triflow tap, presumably some are designed so there's no mixing so no backflow. Can't see why 3 check valves wouldn't solve the immediate problem

I don't really understand why a triflow tap doesn't work.
I've have a Britas torlan filter tap and the supply from the filter is a separate tube that exits the very end of the spout . What Ive found is, if the hot tap has been running the filtered water in the central tube is heated by conduction which flows warm for a second or two.
