I'm building much of my new garage myself to keep costs down. The approved architect's drawings don't specify it, but reading some of your other queries suggests that an expansion joint in my concrete garage floor may be advisable. The floor is 6m x 9m, 150mm deep. What product is best for this purpose (if it is indeed needed)? Any answers gratefully received!

generally speaking, the temperature differential that effects external concrete does not effect internal concrete.

i'm not saying that it is not wise to fit expansion joints to some internal situations, just not yours.

i wouldn't bother anyhow.

Paranoia about trying to avoid all the pitfalls, I suppose. Thanks for the advice!
