concrete floor

Hi all, I have removed a wall between the bathroom and toilet, the floors in both rooms were concrete. I now have a channel in the concrete floor, do I just level with concrete or do i need to use PVA to bond new concrete.

level the floor with sharp sand and cement at 4:1.

wet the area with water only.
