Hi, I had a look in the loft and there is condensation above the loft hatch, is that likely to be just because there’s no insulation on it ?

Also I noticed some white stuff behind the tiles , not sure what it is ?
There’s also I nsulation stuffed down the eaves which I guess is a good thing ?
It’s a 1900s house.

you need to keep the warm air down stairs. up grade your insulation including the loft hatch.
Insulation is cheap at the moment so top it up
Unlikely to be any soffit /fascia vent system fitted, so the wedge of fluff should not make a difference.
However it could transfer moisture into your wall plate though, best unplug

Insulate and draughtstrip the loft hatch. Obviously ventilation of the roof space would reduce the risk of condensation.

There are many things you can do to prevent the migration and build up of moisture in a house. Condensation is idiosyncratic in nature and is governed by occupancy. There is no single answer or cure.

Breathable membrane.

Over-fascia/soffit vents.

Air bricks or membrane lap vets to loft space.

Foil back (duplex) plasterboards or ceiling VCL.

Sealed loft hatches.

Extractor fans in vulnerable locations.

Opening windows.

A busy family that cooks and washes and dries clothes internally will generate far more than a single occupant who is rarely there.
