Condenser Boiler Condensation pipe solution

I've a solution to fix the freezing condensate pipe from our BG installed boiler.
Yes, the pipe is too small and the draining angle is almost horizontal so not ideal but one solution is to fit a heat cable. I bought a reptile heat cable, fed it through the gap that BG failed to seal around the condensate pipe and wrapped the cable around the white pipe. Put the insulation back and cabled tied it in place. I plugged the heater cable into a timer so I can adjust it. It cost £16 from Amazon and it works. No more freezing condensate pipe.

You mean you added trace heating?

It was a standard specification on all external water pipes 30+ years ago. The only people who accepted bare condensate drains (and were surprised when they froze) were domestic customers who wouldn't have known they'd been sold a lemon.
