Why do you ask , ??? any carbon dioxide detected by an fga , is done on the basis of a calculation , not actually detecting the gas !!!! unless other's know different ???
i have procedures here which tell me that if the MI state CO AND CO2, then these have to be within the ranges as prescibed in the MIs.
But, it also states if the MIs only state CO2 only, then the ratio should be below 0.004 or less and where listed meets or is less than the specified co2 reading.
As such, I just want to see the MIs for a condensuing boiler that only gives co2.
Sorry Craig but CO/CO2 ratio always has to be checked, I don't quite see the purpose of your post because either way you need to use a FGA which will read O2, CO2 CO sometimes NOX as well so
i know the ratio will always be checked, but i hve bene told that some condensing boilers MIs ONLY give a specific CO2 reading (NO CO) which must be met aswell as the ratio being ok.
all boilers have quoted co2 values. (e.g 9.0%)
some also have co value (e.g lessthan 200ppm)
others also have o2 value (e.g 5%)
If you are competent to use an analyser then you will realise that you need to adjust the boiler to achieve the desired co2 reading.
The analyser reading will then give the other 2 readings along with a co/co2 ratio and other readings. These will vary depending on how clean the boiler is the state of the injector(s),fan etc.
From these readings we can then determine what action needs to be done to get the boiler to perform as the manufacture wants
