I have prepared a channel in the plaster to fit a socket on a ring circuit.
The problem is that the conduit is flush with the face of the plaster.
Can I cut the conduit down the middle so it will be a thinner?
This will still give protection won't it?

You can buy conduit with a flattened profile which is not a lot thicker than 2.5 mm cable. Would this help? If necessary you could put two side by side to take the ring cables.

I use oval egatube which does come in a variety of sizes. However I prefer size that takes two 2.5mm cables as fits directly in metal box and allows for later addition. I usually use angle grinder to cut into brickwork with diamond blade so have no difficulty with constant depth below surface.
