Hi,

Is there a recommended size conduit for 1mm flex to run through.

It's only a small run through a cavity wall but I thought it best to protect it. Would conduit with an internal diameter of 10mm be too tight?

Thanks,
Dan

Do you mean a brick cavity or a stud (plasterboard) wall?

Not a lot of point using conduit if this is regular sheathed and insulated flex.

Hi,

It's a brick cavity. The cable will be going from the inside to the outside. I was just thinking of some protection if at some point the walls get insulated.

There seems a bit of conflicting opinion when running a cable through a cavity.

Some sites seem to advise using conduit to protect the cable against cavity insulation but then others say not to use conduit because it will bridge the cavity can potentially cause damp.

What ar peoples thoughts?

Thanks,
Dan

I wouldn't think it would make any difference as far as the insulation is concerned.
It may be useful protection against mice etc.

Here again, I don't see the difference.
Just make the cable or conduit slope down to the outside
