Hi there All
I am confused with all of the options for removing a chimney stack that has been part removed over the years buy the previous owser ni the 70's
So many options:
Remove kitchen stack (whats left) and put in an RSJ accross the room
Remove kitchen stack and support first floor stack with gallows and building control. Parity wall agreement etc.
Put gallows in the loft and remove both stacks. (not my favorite option as loose character in the room above) costs allot more.
With all of these options i am loosing the will to live
when looking online there is only one company that really advertise this as a service but i need more quotes so have posted on a builder website for local quotes.
Where should i go from here.
i think i would like to keep the upstairs stack as its a feature and that is why i liked this house in the first place.
So then the BC tell me i dont need reguralization cert as its older than 1985 but then it does need a cert as the partity wall comes into play.
Will gallows if installed between ground and 1st floor disappear into the space between or will they show boxed in down stairs?
Thanks All for any advice you can give.
