Hi I just bought a smeg oven and it says plug it into the mains using a 13 amp plug-it is already wired with a black lead-ie not the thick gray wire normally used for cookers.
I was just wondering if it would be ok to connect it to the 45 amp spur that my existing oven is attached to as I dont have a spare plug socket.
thanks

No it needs a 13 amp supply.

Given you will need to alter the wiring in your kitchen, which is notifiable to your local building control, it will be best to call an electrician to fit a switch and socket for this oven.
