We have a modern oil boiler that heats the radiators, our hot water is heated by an immersion heater in the tank, along with a rayburn that is connected to the coil inside the tank.

Is there any way to have the oil boiler heating the water along with the rayburn when the rayburn is off without disconnecting the rayburn water heater?

Should be possible, depending whether the cylinder is direct or indirect to the Rayburn. A competent plumber could advise.

Is the Rae burn solid fuel? Unusual to have a coil if so. You may need a plate hex to get over it.
