Me and the neighbours are both in the process of having conservatories built. Mine will be ready to go shortly following a quote for the base, but the neighbour is still having visits from salesmen trying to sell their particular brand.
By the sounds of it all the salesmen are slagging one another off - their methods, suppliers etc. One salesman in particular said that with his conservatory you get a certificate from the council that you need when you sell the house. He's the only one who's mentioned this and it got me wondering what he was referring to?
To my knowledge, as long as you comply with the government guidlines (70m3 capacity etc) you dont even need to tell the council you're having it done. Let alone a certificate when you sell it?
What sort of documentation could a potential purchaser demand for a conservatory, aside from the warrenty/guarantee? Its got me thinking about whether I need to tell the council about mine and risk delaying the build.
Does anyone know what the deal is here?
