Has anyone any tips on how best to go about it, especially the roof and centre piece on the top? It is an Edwardian conservatory. Would it take a big lump leaning on the top of it? How strong are they etc.

Thanks in advance, though I better ask before I end up ballsing it up like ususal

For the UPVC bits Siroflex SX solvent cleaner is excellent. (It will also clean Hammerite out of paint brushes. Only thing I've ever found that will, other than the very expensive Hammerite thinners)

solvent cleaner is excellent.

It will be excellent at taking the coating off the sheets, leading to more frequent and greater dirt build up in future.

Us a mild detergent or a specialist cleaning solution. And don't scrub the sheets.

Ideally, these roofs should be lightly cleaned once or twice a year and this keeps them from getting pitted and fading.

Use a long brush or special access ladder

Don't worry, Woody. This isn't the "Type 10" solvent cleaner that really does dissolve UPVC frames. It's far gentler than that, but still removes those colloidal particles of dirt that soap and water won't touch. I wouldn't use it on my own windows if it melted them. It's only a once in 5 years job anyway.
