Before testing though I can say it is something to do with the kitchen as I don't see no wires going to the kitchen even though there is four sockets there.

Do you have the test kit and competence to do this?

I'd at least look at getting the meter tails updated a bit, those look like the old VIR or maybe fabric type to me. Probably wants an electrician to take a look at it all.

Also the cable that leaves the 6amp lighting circuit goes under the floorboards... its quite strange... should it not go from the ceiling just like others.

Get a competent spark involved. They have knowledge and test equipment AND experience with this type of stuff

Isn't it possible that the leg going under the floor is one of the ring final legs, and one of the others that goes up is the other, then the remaining two are spurs or another ring final.
