Hello
I’m looking for help in establishing exactly what needs to be done to the wiring where it enters the consumer unit from the floor.
I got in EICR survey done on the property and it came back with the following remedial :
C2- no containment on wiring and cupboard

I’ll post a photo of the issue and would appreciate if somebody could help by posting a photo in reply to illustrate exactly what the solution is to safely conceal the cables to negate the C2
Three of the four entry points are being used on the underside.

Thank you very much in advance.

Basically what does containment of the cables mean - is it flameproof flexi trunking? Is it a metal housing around the exposed cables ? That’s really what I’m trying to establish …
I’ll post another pic from lower down but it’s as explained in the initial description

Unless theres some big holes underneath it looks pretty normal to me, could have been a bit neater but what you gonna do.

Basically what does containment of the cables mean
Conduit or trunking, typically used for single insulated conductors. Available in metal or plastic, would be installed before any wiring/cables, and then the wiring would be installed into it.

The picture shows flat T&E style cables below the consumer unit which are insulated and sheathed. They do not need any additional containment.
Neither do the others between the meter, isolator and the unnecessary switchfuse at the left, all insulated and sheathed.
They may need to be better secured to the wall behind, but that is unrelated to containment.

Nothing visible that would justify a C2.
C3 perhaps as the various cables visible could be better secured.

Thank you both for the replies and for clarifying the issues as you see them.
Could the cables beneath be boxed/cased in across the full width of the consumer unit so as to conceal them completely? Should that remove even a C3?

You could use some 4x4 pvc trunking and 2 end caps, and cut the back out to make it fit if you really wanted to

The whole thing is in some containment (the cupboard).
Perhaps if it could only be accessed with a key or tool then it would satisfy complete containment?

I’ll look to get some trunking fitted and a lock on the cupboard and see if that gets a clear slate.
Thanks again
