convert to left hand drive

I am taking a car to Gambia but want to convert it to left hand drive b efore it goes. I have tried to find lhd parts in uk but no luck. only other way is a trip to northern France to a scrapyard. Any advise gratefully kreceived. Anyone know of any British owned/english speaking garages within reasonable distance of north French coast[/u][/i][/b]

I wantto convert a 1996 Ford escort 1.4 I took one of these cars to Gambia about 5 years ago but it was an expensive and painful experienceto get it converted there

I don't think it's worth the bother. Can you not get a car over there or a LHD car here or have a day trip to France or something.

Somewhere like Australia, you have to convert a LHD to RHD before you're allowed to drive it there.

unless it's a legal requirement in that country, why bother ?

I've been driving left-hand drive cars in the UK for years, took me a couple of weeks to become comfortable with it, now it's second nature.
