OK, I'll give you a little help. Have you tested the incoming main to ensure the flow rate and pressure are good enough for the boiler you propose to install? That would be a good place to start. Do that, if the supply is insufficient then you shouldn't install the boiler.

ok thanks for that the pressure and flow rate is ok there my sister lives over the road and similar type boiler. can you explain how the open vent boiler is rigged up ie combi is mains in gas dhw and flow and return

Open vent is gas, flow and return. This is all basic stuff, how long have you been plumbing for?

in answer to you bengasman why can you not give me the run down of the job...
As I mentioned above, I am convinced that you will botch the job. The fact that I have asked you twice how you propose to shut the gas of safely, and you have yet to come up with the answer, does nothing to alleviate that.
The mentioning of purging gas at the hob makes me fear the worst.

Despite the aforementioned, if you can convince me, or others that you have the required knowledge and just want help and tips on how to do it better, you will find a wealth of information coming your way.

done a course threw the internet passed ccn1 a month ago so basically i can use the old flow and return and gas in22mm and then connect into dhw and mains to get to new boiler combi

sorry bengasman i will turn the gas off at the ecv and then purge at the hob as the gas pipework is less 28mm the max is 22mm and its a u6 metre then i will purge for0.010 safely at the hob then remove into a safe place outside the metre and cap off ecv and metre

OK, based on that answer, before we go any further will you just humour me by answering a few questions please?

1) Do you have your CEN1 boilers qualification?

2) Do you have your Energy Efficiency certificate?

3) What is your Gas Safe registration number?

cen1 boilers yes why do you want my gase safe registration number? no i dont have energy efficientcy

cen1 boilers yes why do you want my gase safe registration number? no i dont have energy efficientcy

I want your number to check you really are registered and kosher. As you don't have your EE, which you need to complete this job, I suspect that you are not.

FFS . iTS a wind up and yous are falling for it
I am not convinced it is a windup. I think it is a cowboy who is trying to get some more info on how to do a boiler install.
He has read a bit somewhere about gas, may even have bought a course book, but clearly has no clue how to apply it.
3 major discrepancies in his answers.
