Cooker cabling

Chaps and any sparkettes,

Would apprciate your advices on a temporary problem I am going to have to make allowance for.

We are finally renewing our kitchen and a few sockets/outlets need moving. One of the moves will be an oven and its outlet (30a), but due to the new position of oven and time/tradesmen available, it will not be possible to move the outlet at the same time the oven is moved. The new position of the oven will be about 2 meters from the old outlet. Is it allowable to run a temporary cable over this length? If so are there any additional precautions I should take?

The regulations require isolation of an applience no more than 2M away so your ok just about

Just put the cable for the cooker within a length of trunking to provide mechanical protection for the cable

Its up to you to move the outlet near the oven in the future but not required as its still ok by BS EN 7671, just as an extra get a cooker unit which is marked "Cooker" on it

Although I have seen this in the on site guide, I can't see this in the iee regs book.

I'm not disputing anything, I just can't see the actual reg which states this. The osg usually has a regulation reference next to the entry but for this one doesn't. Just looking for a pointer.

appx 8, p154. Appx 8 is standard circuit arrangements which also allows the designer to make changes. I am in the understanding the isolation device must be clearly identifiable and accessable to comply with bs7671, possibly placing it within 2m is for identification purposes?

As long as its labeled up its fine just like i said have an isolator with "Cooker" on it
