So the cooker had to be disconnected whilst new kitchen units and walls are repaired. Do I need to have a new gas certificate to connect the cooker back up or will the existing certificate do?

Is this a gas hob? If so then needs to be reconnected by Gas Safe engineer ( RGI ).

If it is a free standing cooker connected with a bayonet fitting then anyone can reconnect it.

But all new gas pipework must be done and tested by an RGI.

Its a Freestanding cooker. No new gaswork or pipes were done. Gas bayonett fitting. Only plastering to walls and new kitchen units.

So I can just connect the cooker back up and my existing Landlord Gas cert is still valid?

Should be reet.

Run a lighter round the connection and you will be sound.

Cooker doesn't need to be checked and commissioned as it was fine before.

You have a new kitchen and skimp on the important stuff?! Well, as long as it looks pretty eh.

No! You will need a new certificate as it's a new install
Its not a new install ? all the op has done is disconnect the cooker from the bayonet and is connecting it back up again , how is that a new installation ?

Cooker is less than 8 months old. lol

Just plug it back in it's no different to plugging anything in. You can't smell electric but if you smell gas turn it off and call someone. 0800111999

A LLGSC is an ANNUAL requirement. Even if you fitted a different cooker or boiler, a new certificate us not required, until the annual date.
If a cert us issued with advice for repairs etc, a new certificate is not required on completion of repairs.
