Cooker (gas) cable

I'm new to site so any help would be appreciated.

Just purchased a gas cooker, on the electrical installation information it requires a 32A double pole circuit etc but then goes on to say a 13A fuse is required for cable to cooker. Is there any reason why this cannot just be conected via a plug into a socket on my 32A ring main circuit .

What, about the cooker, is electric?

If its just ignition, control and timer, fit a 3 amp fuse and plug it in.

If theres an electric oven, find its rating, if its 3kw or less, you can plug it in.

Cooker oven & hobs are gas but has electric ignition, fan in main oven (i assume that's why 13A fuse is mentioned) can't quite understand why in literature it mentions 32A cooker controller?

The fan in the oven is not a large load, maybe only 20 watts.

Please find the maximum electrical loading of the appliance.

Thanks for taking time to reply, I ordered a gas cooker hobs & oven what turned up was a gas hobs & electric oven, feel pretty stupid but I can now understand the problems I was having. Total electrical loading of ovens & grill is quoted as 4.6kw although the small oven & grill would not be on at the same time, the two ovens are approx 4kw. Thanks again for replying.

If you keep it, the good news is it will sit comfortable on a 20 amp circuit, wired in 2.5mm² cable. Fit an isolator within 2 metres. Of course, your electrician will know all this.

By the way, your two ovens and grill probably add up to more than 4.6kw, but the top oven will have an interlock so that the oven and grill cannot be used together.

The other good news is that electric ovens are better than gas, so hassle the supplier for a discount and keep it.
