Cooker hood

dual-gang-35mm-flush-steel-box.jpg

This is the dual box I mentioned earlier which would allow me to fit both a single socket and fcu in place of the double socket. Just need to make the hole slightly larger.[/img]

Is it ok to put the fcu against the back wall inside the cupboard?

It would mean needing a stool to reach it but it is still "accessible"

I am fitting a cooker hood and will wire direct into a junction box hidden behind the hoods chimney. It will then be wired horizontal along and then vertical down above a twin socket to keep within routing regulations.
I'm not in the least convinced that that will comply with the regulations.

Hi ban all sheds,

I decided against that and I am now running horizontal to an fcu which is directly above the twin socket.

Does that sound more within regulation?

Well after grafting away for the mrs to have a nice shiny cooker hood that stopped the top of the worktops and ceiling getting greasy (which I noticed when I came to paint) she didn't even use a bloody hob!

Tomoro night il give it a good test by cooking fajitas :-D
