What size output is needed for an electric hob and double oven.

Currently gas hob, and single oven from 13amp socket, so not an issue. But would like new kitchen with electric outlet - in case of future changes to all electric.

It will depend on the output of the appliances, a 32A MCB can be used on a cooking appliance up to 15kW in a domestic premises.
But your real concern would be the cable sizing and installation, you cannot put in a MCB/Protective device without the cable have the capacity to carry the current safely.
32A most have at least 4.00mm T&E. So it depends on the output of the appliance, the route of the cable and overall length of the route, then a calculation can be made for the design current, any factors such as thermal insulation, cable size, protective device, voltage drop and diversity if needed.

A British stand alone cooker like the Belling FSE60i only requires a 32A supply even though a single heat area is able to deliver 3.7kW into the pan.

However if you want to use non British or to split the supply to oven and hob or use a commercial (wider than standard 600mm) then you may exceed the 32A and you have to consider either twin supplies (split level) or a larger supply.

Non British ovens are a problem where they exceed the British 3kW limit for a 13A fuse and move to the 3.6kW limit with the 16A radials used in Europe. However often the cable connection will not take cable thick enough to take the 45A supply needed for the two items which leaves a problem in fusing down.

So I if wiring from scratch would consider 45A supply to feed any large stand alone plus a 16A supply for oven but as it stands I think a 32A supply will run most stand alone units.

Since cable size will depend on type of cable and where routed to say if 6mm or 10mm is required is not something which can be commented on as too many variables.

32A for virtually every domestic situation.

If you really have more than 15kW of cooking appliances, you would be wanting a 3 phase supply anyway.
