Where should the cooker switch be? I know it should be near the cooker, but i guess not right over the cooker or near the sink, and is there a minimum distance between the worktop and the switch to prevent accidental spillage coming into contact the switch?
Cheers

afaict there are no specific rules on distances for this just various general comments like accessories must be suitable for thier location.

think if you needed to turn off the cooker in a hurry becase of something like a chip pan fire where would you wan't the switch?

It HAS to be within 2m of the appliance, or if there are two controlled by it, within 2m of both appliances.

Some fit theirs in base units, others say this is wrong, but wherever it goes, make sure it is easy to reach and not hazardous to do so.
