my cooker has been fine for about 8 years, but the other day for the first time, after a few minutes of being on, it tripped the switch in the consumer unit.
it wouldn't switch back on until i turned the cooker off.
i switched it on and everything else came back on and has been fine.
I switched cooker on by the oven and then a hob and both times the switch tripped.
i have not got any new things installed or done any work in the house.
the only new appliance i have is a mini fridge but this works fine and has been for a few weeks.
i have checked the fuses in the consumer unit and they are all intact and not at all discoloured.
can i change a fuse in the control box on the wall or something, or is the cooker done for?
The only thing in the control box socket is a plug in air freshener.
the consumer unit says on the front
240v 50hz
63A Load
30m A Trip
CAT WES 63/2
consumer operated earth leakage current breaker
wylex
(it has a 'test monthly switch' as well as the on and off switch)
i have some electrical knowledge, mainly of lighting rigs and know basics
