Hi

Im attempting to fit a cooker hood with extraction outside. The problem i have is i live on the end house on the terraced street and the wall im trying to drill is very thick brick approx 18inches.

The drill bit i used for the guide hole is 400mm long and that doesnt reach outside so the core cutter is definetly too small in legnth.

Ive seen 200mm extension on screw fix and could be just enough i hope.

Has anyone else came across the same issue and if so what did you use?

Any help at all would be great.

Is it just an extension or is it the proper long arbor for core drills?
If the latter, it's fine.

I've managed a 250mm wall with the short arbor, so with the 200mm long arbor, you'll just about do it.
The hole will be large enough to allow a little of the jaws of the drill to go in.

If not, work from both sides.
It'll probably be a long hard slog, so make yourself comfortable and safe.

You could consider hiring the gear? That way, the hire shop will supply all you need including the drill for around £40.....just knock out the cores as you go and you'll get there.

Itwould be cheaper to buy say a 10x1000 budget drill bit to run the pilot right through, open up from teh outside then use the core you have from outside
