afternoon peeps.
had a corgi guy come round to service my boiler.
whilst here i asked if he could disconnect an old wall fire so i can have it removed and re decorate.
this has been done however its his method that puzzled me
he used a circular pipe cutter to cut pipe off (after turning gas off) (ok )
he then got rid of a few hundred layers of gloss paint on it ( fine)
then he didnt havea cap with him so painted the inside with something he called flux (??)
squashed the pipe flat with some hose grips and soldered over the joint and said that would be fine (really)
turned the gas on and all seems well, cant smell gas however is this normal?
