Cost of laying turf?

i need someone to rip up my lawn and re-lay it with turf.

How much will it cost for an average size garden?

This is a DIY site, where you post a question of what you are doing and tradesmen across the country will try and help and advise you.

However we don't have crystal ball's and google won't let us see into your garden to work out what size, shape, materials and access is needed.

So I will say it before anyone else does:
Look in your local paper and get 3 gardeners/turfing companies to come round and give you a written quote, then and only then you can decide what the going rate is and who you would like to do the work.

Make sure you have them come round at different times, we don't want to meet our competition in your back garden, it can be embarrassing.

While we are at it, how long is the average bit of string?

sandy loam, rotovate and work existing soil, strip turf or rotovate it in?

drainage issues?

shade issues?
