I live in a block of flats and my door entry handset (Entrotec ED4+) has stopped working. How much should it cost for someone to replace it?

The electrician who diagnosed the handset as the problem has given what seems to be an expensive quote (>£200). It seems to me a relatively small job, to rewire the new handset (handset cost of ~£30/40) in the same way as the old.

Could I replace the handset myself? If so, would I need access to the main controller?

How can I tell if I have an AC or DC system?

No unless the fuse has blown …..does the privacy light light up ? If not I would guess the fuse has blown ….ED4+ are around the £50 plus carriage from Entrotec …. Think you can order from intercoms are us ….also there are normally the odd one on eBay , but make sure it’s a new one
