Covid Vaccines For The Five To Eleven Year Olds - Your take?????????

BBC reported that 1% of primary aged children are suffering with some form of long covid. 14% of children are still suffering symptoms 15 weeks after infection (more than one term at school).
Is that 1% of the kids who get covid, or of all kids?

On the other hand, the risks associated with the vaccine are incredibly low.
They are probably zero in order for them to vaccinate this age group. Info is likely to be available from other countries. However people should not assume that this age group can't suffer the usual covid problems.

Some work has been done on why some people have a worse experience with covid than others. They know what can be wrong with people that causes people to suffer more but not the rest of people who do. No clear results as far as I am aware. Some at all age groups don't really notice catching it at all, some do to varying extents. Age effects are another factor. Some of that may be down to us only really evolving to live past 30 or so. Various changes have allowed us to live longer but that is the age where things start declining.

LOL I wonder if it's an evolutionary thing. Virus have always been around so some variation in peoples immune system and body makes sense to prevent the species being wiped out. Some always survive. ;) Or have so far.

The same can be said of other highly contagious viruses like flu - most people will be exposed to it every year, but only a relatively few die. Too many to ignore of course.

I personally won't be getting my kid vaccinated at 5, she's 4 and just had Covid... she had one day where she had a high fever and was lethargic, after that you wouldn't know she had it.

I also have a teenage daughter whose double vaccinated.

There are so many factors now it's hard to get a handle on what's causing what.
Then wot know, are also concerned about the trauma cause to a youngun from a needle:cautious:...

Reading through the posts a poster said, kids that have had coivid get some protection. I agree with that but are there any real figures on the younger age group.
