Lath and plaster walls/wall and ceilings?
Normal.
If you had coving it would of gone through that as well.
Loft above?
Prop up ceiling.
Vacuum off loft side.
PVA 4 to 1 ISH
Pour some plaster over.
Wall rake out.
PVA.
Filler.
Just an old house android movement. Needs TLC and keeping up to standard.
