I need to make a join in a 10mm t&e shower cable. it's in a cupboard & is accessible. my question is, will the crimps be able to handle the current drawn by the shower? i've only ever used them on a 2.5 ring.

You'll need to get 10mm crimps and a meaty crimper that can deal with 10mm.

Dont think u can get insulated 10mm crimps so you need to individually sleeve them then sleev the whole joint
but if its accessible why not use a 60A JB like this? http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/AAJB60.html

Make sure the joint is good & tight!!

Since you have an accessable area a junction box would be easier.

10mm crimps are available, but won't fit a standard rachet crimper and bigger crimpers tend to start from £40+

So if you don't have the correct crimper it's going to be cheaper to provide a JB
