Two of those lights should be plenty for a 10' long kitchen.

If you look on other websites, it is generally best to avoid the 'kitchen lighting' sections as most of those will just be full of 50W halogen spotlights. The 'bathroom' and 'commercial' sections will probably contain a far greater selection.
 
Dont go with the drum lights, they look so commercial / industrial. The 5ft of that light will be perfect.

Under cupboard lighting is not "for effect". This is your work light - it lights with worktops. This light should be bright and unfocused, so fluorescent is ideal. They make linklights for this purpose.

These are generally T5 like the ceiling light you chose. Very bright tubes (tubes of days gone by were T12, very thick and not very bright - now they have multiple phosphor coatings etc so can be made much thinner)
