2019 Nurses in NHS 290,000. Wage bill = 290,000 nurses salaries.

19,000 nurses decide to leave wage bill = 271,000 nurses salaries
19,000 nurses are pursuaded not to leave = 290,000 nurses salaries.

290,000 - 290,000 = 0
No difference to wage bill.

Tory manifesto mentioned nothing about retention, it states 50,000 more nurses.

Ps, government are working on reducing attrition from around 12% down to 6%, but arent budgeting for any changes to make that reduction.

Johnson will do lots of chest thumping to drive brexiteers wild
Come next June, no FTA will get done, ERG will refuse extension, no deal arguments start all over again.
Brexit will dominate UK politics, domestic issues wont get much of a look in.

At least the withdrawal agreement will create some certainty and ckmbined with a majority government will mean inward investment will be strong for a while. Brexit in short term will seem beneficial, however the UKs massive loss of negotiating power out of the EU will mean the UK will lose in every trade negotiation.

Johnson will lie and lie and lie, pushing out nationalistic propaganda nonsense and he will throw money everywhere to hide the underlying failure of brexit.

All Johnson wants is another 5 years in power - he will do anything to remain popular.
