The remains of the fuse carrier.

So the cable insulation is burnt, the fuse carriers are burnt, the cover is burnt - and all these things are the same in the boxes which are not wooden backed.

But the wooden back which people get agitated about because its flammable and therefore unsafe is virtually unscathed.

Note that the largest fuses are not by the main switch, as normal good practice recommends!

Not just recommended, the green holders are keyed so they will only fit next to the main switch on a 100A board.
The wire emerging from it also looks a bit small for a 45A fuse.

what was in the missing fuseway ?

Was there a fault elsewhere ? or just got too hot under operating conditions?

Yeah what type / size device was in way 4?

The cooked fuse in way 5 looks to have been a victim rather than the cause of the fault.

It looks to me like a duff connection on the outgoing side of way 4.

I had one very similar to this. It was a duff connection between the fuse carrier and the outgoing way connection rather than a loose terminal.
