I'm just doing a bit of DIY and need to be able to do it late into the evening, as I've got to fit it around long hours at work, but my neighbours are the type with a glass to the wall waiting for the slightest little noise to complain about.
How effective would a wire saw be at cutting through a length of 4" x 4" timber?.....Are wire saws a lot quieter than normal saws then?
Using a nice new sharp handsaw will make little noise the noise will come from the viabrations transmited through the bench / table you are working on try a folded blanket on the workmate or whatever you are using and an old rug underneath the feet.
Just tell the neighbours you have work to do, give them the option of a few time windows, and get it done. You have a right to make some noise as required for maintaining your house. One day they will need to do the same.
