please could someone help i wish to turn off the hot and cold supply to my bathroom so i can fit a bathroom suite im doing a course but all the systems i have learnt about only has about 3 pipes but mine has alot more than this there is about 4 gate valves and 1 tap in the airing cupboard please can anyone help many thanks

Shut off your stop tap (Probably under the sink) which will stop the cold if all is piped as should be then turn off the gate valve to the hot and run the hot water tap till its dry and hey presto your good to go!!!

i think the system i got is a indirect i have 1 pipe with a valve on it going into one side of hwc and a flow and return coming out the other side and the vent coming out of top there is other pipe work in airing cupboard but none connected to hwc but some have got valves

Turn off stop tap then turn off all gate valves and run taps until dry, only problem you could come across is that dependant on age of the gate valves they may well stick on closed!!!

That could give quite a surprise when he cuts into the flow, return, feed, or expansion pipe.
