Hi all,

I'm intending on fitting a shower screen to my bath; I've marked approx. 40mm inside from the edge of the bath.

The problem is we have tile edging around the bath and I need to cut into this as shown in the picture so that the shower screen wall channel will be flush with the bath.

It isn't plastic I think it is ceramic?

What would be the best way to cut this? i.e. how to do it and what tools would I need?

I am intending on taking all the silicone around the bath off and redoing it, as well as removing all of the grout and regrouting so I can remove this edging piece and cut away from the bath to make it a bit easier.

When I cut it do I want to leave a gap either side which I will then silicone or grout?

Thanks in advance for your help!

It's a ceramic quadrant section. You might be able to cut it with a Dremel or similar but I wouldn't like to guarantee it and there would be a risk of damage to the edge of the bath. Removing it could be equally tricky depending on how well it's stuck down. It will probably break if you do try removal.

I think I would be tempted to look at modifying the base of the screen support to see if that could be made to fit around the quadrant and seal with silicone.
