Why don't the cylinder release? I've taken the screw out and just about everything else.

Is it because the mortice needs to be in the locked position? Which will be difficult as there is no key for the existing lock. Would seem a flaw in the design if so.

I just want to change the cylinder for another one with a working key.

Help?

You need to have a key in it and turn it a bit to get the cylinder out. With no key in, the the black bit sticks out like this...

The cylinder needs to be slightly turned before you can remove it, otherwise the nib on the cam will stick out slightly outside of the Euro footprint.

If you don't have a working key then ....
