Hi,

Need to prepare some holes (inside to out) to take a fused spur off one socket and extend the ring off another. Will be getting a spark to do the connecting but want to do the prep.

I've got myself a 6mm x 400mm drill bit to avoid taking the brick face off when drilling out from the back of the sockets but wondered what drill bit sizes I should pick up for the final hole. I'm guessing something like 8mm or 10mm for the fused spur.

Also, I read somewhere that spa chap used a 16mm drill size so that he could use 15mm flexible tube to sleeve the hole. Is this a good idea?

Sorry for the amateur questions but appreciate any comments.

Thanks,

Damian

Fused spur in 2.5mm cable will need at least a 12mm hole. Just get the sparky to drill it, will take him 5 mins and save you going to the shops, buying one, and then messing about and getting it in the wrong place.

You can rarely drill a hole from the inside outwards without damaging the brick.

With some very careful measuring, you can drill a hole from the inside to the cavity, then another hole from outside to the cavity.

Then fish a piece of draw wire through the two holes.

Best left to the electrician really.
